Sakson Group focuses on training as local expertise lacks
Dubai based offshore company Sakson Group has said it will focus on training the local skills in Kenya where it is drilling for oil exploration companies Tullow Oil and New Age.
Sakson says it has been forced to source for skills in various positions especially drilling expertise for the Rig PR5 from other countries such as Egypt as the local capacity remains wanting.
Sakson Group country manager Aly El Gohary now says already 55 staff are undergoing training on various disciples.
Aly however acknowledges the local market is developing fast to cater for the needs by end users with a number of services that were lacking 2 years ago are now available.
“When we started we were forced to seek service for equipments from Dubai while spare-parts and workshops were also a problem to access,” says Aly.
Apart from Tanzania the company is also in Ethiopia as to where its clients have blocks.
