GHANA: Tullow Strengthens Operations with Completed Drilling Campaign and Full Recovery of Gas Receivables

Tullow Oil has successfully concluded its 2025–26 offshore drilling campaign in Ghana, bringing six new Jubilee production wells and one Jubilee water injector onstream to boost output and offset field decline.

The completion of the drilling program in September marks a crucial milestone for the company’s West African operational hub. Strong well productivity, combined with an FPSO uptime exceeding 99% following a 2025 scheduled shutdown, allowed Tullow to increase its export schedule to 14 planned cargoes in 2026 up by two cargoes from initial projections. Eleven of those cargoes will originate from the Jubilee field and three from TEN.

Relations with host authorities reached a milestone as Tullow confirmed the complete recovery of historic gas receivables owed by the Government of Ghana. After recovering $73 million during the first six months of 2026, the remaining balance was fully settled as of September 28, 2026.

Building on the success of its current program, Tullow announced it has signed a rig contract for its 2027–28 Ghana drilling initiative (Campaign 2). The contracted rig is slated to arrive mid-2027 to execute an expanded program of up to 10 wells. Drilling targets will be guided by high-resolution 4D seismic and Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) survey data.
