Swala Energy’s Kito Prospect on Schedule for Drilling in 3rd Quarter 2016

Swala Energy and Tata Petrodyne  have said all is set to drill at the Kilosa Kilombero license in Q3 2016 with the latest feasibility study showing the majority of roads and bridges are suitable to move a rig.

According to Swala Energy two bridges are likely to be bypassed as well as improvement of one river crossing near the site.

A road survey has also been planned ahead of drilling to ensure all hazards and obstacles are identified.

As per the Gaffney Cline & Associates Competent Persons Report 38.9 mmbo has been allocated to Kilosa-Kilombero with Kito P50 Prospective Resources assessed at 21.5 mmbo (net).

Of the various prospects Kito Basal Sandstone and Kito Sequence 1 Sandstone have the highest likelihood of success with 11% and 12% respectively. The prospects were identified following 430km 2D seismic survey carried out in the Kilombero Basin in 2013

The drilling set for September 2016 currently is in the contracting rig stage with site preparation expected to commence in June 2016.

Already  Swala Energy has awarded the Drill Support Team contract for the 2016 drilling campaign to the Tanzanian subsidiary of AWT International (Asia) Sdn Bhd, a Singapore-headquartered firm offering subsurface, subsea and surface facilities engineering services and contracting solutions to the oil and gas industry.

Karuka-Katai, Kanywata licensesMeanwhile Swala says it is hopeful of being awarded a license in Uganda from the two licence applications currently in Uganda at the Karuka-Taitai and Kanywataba licenses.

Licence awards are planned for end June 2016 after the selection of a short-list of companies companies that will negotiate licence terms with the Government in late March / April.
