{"id":9143,"date":"2020-09-16T17:32:17","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T17:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oilnewskenya.com\/?p=9143"},"modified":"2020-09-16T17:32:17","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T17:32:17","slug":"botswana-update-on-the-proposed-transmission-line-to-connect-tlous-lesedi-power-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/botswana-update-on-the-proposed-transmission-line-to-connect-tlous-lesedi-power-project\/","title":{"rendered":"BOTSWANA: Update on the Proposed Transmission Line to Connect Tlou&#8217;s Lesedi Power project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tlouenergy.com\/\">Tlou Energy<\/a> \u00a0has provided an update on the proposed transmission line to connect Tlou&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lesedi Power project<\/strong>\u00a0to the electricity grid in Botswana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Points:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pre-qualification tender documents prepared<\/li>\n<li>Tender advertised and documents available online<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transmission line detailed design update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Company has engaged Mott MacDonald engineering consultants to work on the detailed engineering and design of the proposed transmission line to connect Tlou&#8217;s Lesedi Power project to the electricity grid in Botswana.<\/p>\n<p>As announced previously, Mott MacDonald are now working on the implementation stage of the proposed 66kV transmission line.\u00a0 This includes preparation of Pre-qualification (PQ) documents with the objective of Tlou selecting a short-list of pre-qualified bidders who will be invited to bid for the construction of the transmission line and supporting infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The following two PQ documents have been prepared:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pre-Qualification of Bidders for the Design and Build contract for the Substation(s) Works<\/li>\n<li>Pre-Qualification of Bidders for the Design and Build contract for 66kV Overhead Transmission Line Works<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These tenders have been advertised in the local press in Botswana and the documents are also available on the Company&#8217;s website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tlouenergy.com\/tender-documents\">http:\/\/tlouenergy.com\/tender-documents<\/a>. The closing date for submissions is 2 October 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The implementation stage is expected to be completed later this year, conditional on not experiencing undue delays outside Tlou&#8217;s direct control.\u00a0 Thereafter, the Company will request tenders for construction of the transmission line and substation works from successful pre-qualified bidders.<\/p>\n<p>Subject to the receipt of acceptable tenders, available funding and on-the-ground access, the Company plans to commence construction as soon as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tlou Energy \u00a0has provided an update on the proposed transmission line to connect Tlou&#8217;s\u00a0Lesedi Power project\u00a0to the electricity grid in Botswana.
