The AUC has acknowledged that on 29 July 2020 seventeen (17) Expressions of Interest (EoI)<\/strong>\u00a0for the Geothermal Risk Mitigation Facility\u2019s 6th Application Round were received on time and were accepted for bid opening, which took place on 3rd August 2020.<\/p>\n

According to the AUC the seventeen EoI consisted of ten (10) Surface Studies (SS)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0seven (7) Drilling Programmes (DP)<\/strong>. Eight (8) projects included a request to support infrastructure upgrades.<\/p>\n

The EoI came from six countries (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia) and were submitted by private, as well as public entities.<\/p>\n
