SME will be accepting applications for the 2020 scholarship season September 1 through October 15, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Last year more than $400,000 in scholarships were awarded by SME Divisions, the SME Foundation, WAAIME, and the Underground Construction Association (UCA). Additionally, several memorial scholarships have been created to honor Society leaders and their contributions to the industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A key mission of SME is to facilitate the study of mining and mineral-related courses at institutions of higher learning by providing scholarships to highly-qualified students,&#8221; said SME Executive Director David L.
