CAMAC Energy has announced that it will start its exploration onshore on block L1B or L16 in 2015 even as exploration continues in Blocks L27\/ L28 in the Lamu Basin an area estimated to contain up to 3.7 billion barrels of oil.<\/p>\n

Already an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study has been completed in February this year in blocks L1B\/L16 with 2D seismic expected to start later in the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor offshore Blocks L27\/L28, CAMAC Energy is currently participating in a multi-client 2D seismic data acquisition that will conclude this month, with final data delivery expected in June 2014. CAMAC Energy will then conduct a geological and geophysical study incorporating the newly acquired data,\u201d read a statement from the company.<\/p>\n

CAMAC Energy was awarded Blocks L1B and L16 onshore and Blocks L27 and L28 offshore in May 2012 and the company has 100% net interest with the Kenyan government having the option to participate up to 20% upon development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
