Ltd., the jointly owned sales\nentity of the&nbsp;Mozambique Area 1&nbsp;co-venturers, has signed a&nbsp;Sale\nand Purchase Agreement (SPA)&nbsp;with&nbsp;Shell International Trading Middle\nEast Ltd.&nbsp;(Shell) for 2 million tonnes of LNG per annum (MTPA) for a term\nof 13 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Anadarko Executive\nVice President, International, Deepwater &amp; Exploration Mitch Ingram the growing\ndemand for LNG globally, Shell&#8217;s strong global reputation in LNG, combined with\nMozambique LNG&#8217;s significant resource and favorable geographic location, create\na unique opportunity to provide customers with a long-term, reliable supply of\nclean energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8216;We are very pleased to announce\nthis SPA with Shell, which builds upon previously announced deals and takes our\ntotal long-term sales to more than 7.5 MTPA, with additional deals expected in\nthe near future,&#8217;&nbsp;said Mitch Ingram, Anadarko Executive Vice President,\nInternational, Deepwater &amp; Exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ingram added that the Shell deal\nadded to the JV\u2019s growing list of high-quality customers demonstrating the\nexcellent progress made toward the stated goal of taking a final investment\ndecision during the first half of 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further Anadarko has signed\na&nbsp;Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA)&nbsp;with&nbsp;Tokyo Gas&nbsp;and&nbsp;Centrica\nLNG Company, a subsidiary of&nbsp;Centrica, for the long-term supply of LNG.\nThe co-purchasing off-take agreement calls for the delivered ex-ship supply of\n2.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) from the start-up of production until the\nearly 2040s.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anadarko says the co-purchasing\nagreement with Tokyo Gas and Centrica will ensure a reliable supply of\nclean-burning natural gas to help meet the energy demands of Japan and Europe.\nAnadarko adds the agreement signals the beginning of a new and lasting\nrelationship between Mozambique&#8217;s first onshore LNG development and Tokyo Gas&nbsp;and&nbsp;Centrica\nLNG Company<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8216;With the vast resources we have\ndiscovered in Area 1 and our capability to compete in global LNG markets,\nMozambique LNG is poised to become a key LNG supplier for decades to come. We\nare excited to support the Japanese government&#8217;s desire for competitively\npriced and flexible long-term supply of LNG to proactively manage demand\nfluctuations in their home markets and enhance the nation&#8217;s energy security. We\nexpect to announce additional SPAs in the near future, as we continue to make\ndemonstrable progress toward taking a final investment decision in the first\nhalf of this year,&#8217; added Ingram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anadarko is developing\nMozambique&#8217;s first onshore LNG plant consisting of two initial LNG trains with\na total nameplate capacity of 12.88 MTPA to support the development of the&nbsp;Golfinho\/Atum\nfield located entirely within Offshore Area 1. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anadarko Mo\u00e7ambique \u00c1rea 1, Lda,\na wholly owned subsidiary of&nbsp;Anadarko Petroleum Corp, operates&nbsp;Offshore\nArea 1&nbsp;with a 26.5-percent working interest.
