{"id":6542,"date":"2017-11-19T13:12:44","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T13:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=6542"},"modified":"2017-11-19T19:36:35","modified_gmt":"2017-11-19T19:36:35","slug":"anadarko-spend-150-million-mozambiques-lng-park-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/anadarko-spend-150-million-mozambiques-lng-park-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Anadarko to Spend $150 Million in Mozambique LNG Park in 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Area 1 operator Anadarko has said it expects to invest approximately $150 million during 2018 primarily to fund its portion of the costs associated with preparing the site of the future LNG park as the company advances the Mozambique LNG project.<\/p>\n<p>Already has received the greenlight to proceed with design, construction and operations of marine facilities for its LNG project in northern\u00a0Mozambique after finalizing <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2hCHa12\">two agreements<\/a> with the Government and publication of the Mozambican Government Decrees approving those agreements.<\/p>\n<p>Anadarko is developing\u00a0Mozambique\u2019s\u00a0first onshore LNG plant consisting of two initial LNG trains with a total capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to support the Golfinho\/Atum field located entirely within Offshore Area 1.<\/p>\n<p>To date Anadarko has\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2hiNY6L\">selected<\/a>\u00a0of a consortium consisting of CB&amp;I, Chiyoda Corporation and Saipem (CCS JV) for the initial development of the onshore LNG park in\u00a0Mozambique as well as signed the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2wgr96w\">Unitization<\/a>\u00a0and Unit Operating Agreement (UUOA) set out for the development of natural gas reservoirs straddling Areas 4 and 1 in the Rovuma Basin, offshore Mozambique.<\/p>\n<p>Anadarko made its first discovery in the Offshore Area 1 of the deepwater Rovuma Basin in 2010, launching one of the most important natural gas discoveries in the last 20 years. Together with its partners Anadarko have discovered\u00a0more than 75 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of\u00a0recoverable natural gas resources in Offshore Area 1 and are working to develop one of the world\u2019s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects with the potential to elevate Mozambique to the world\u2019s third-largest exporter of natural gas.<\/p>\n<p>Anadarko operates Offshore Area 1 with a 26.5-percent working interest. Co-venturers include Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos E.P. (ENH) (15 percent), Mitsui E&amp;P Mozambique Area1 Ltd. (20 percent), ONGC Videsh Ltd. (16 percent), Bharat PetroResources Ltd. (10 percent), PTT Exploration &amp; Production Plc (8.5 percent), and Oil India Ltd.
