{"id":6187,"date":"2017-08-07T21:27:54","date_gmt":"2017-08-07T21:27:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=6187"},"modified":"2017-08-07T21:27:54","modified_gmt":"2017-08-07T21:27:54","slug":"uganda-agrc-consortium-start-talks-develop-greenfield-oil-refinery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/uganda-agrc-consortium-start-talks-develop-greenfield-oil-refinery\/","title":{"rendered":"Uganda, AGRC consortium Start Talks To Develop A Greenfield Oil Refinery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Government of Uganda has announced that it has agreed core project terms for the Uganda Refinery Project with the Albertine Graben Refinery Consortium (AGRC) for the development of a greenfield oil Refinery to be located in the southwestern district of Hoima in Uganda. The government says this follows a thorough review process of over 40 companies that expressed interest to develop the much-anticipated oil refinery.<\/p>\n<p>The AGRC consortium is made up of General Electric (GE) Oil and Gas, YAATRA Ventures LLC, Intracontinent Asset Holdings Ltd (IA) and Saipem SpA, in the role of Engineering, Procurement and Construction partner (EPC).<\/p>\n<p>The Consortium has proposed to Government a financing approach and a path to establish, develop and operate a commercially viable <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1TXfqP8\">refinery<\/a> company with a strategic benefit to the country and the region.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement of the core project terms signals the start of Government discussions and negotiations with the Consortium on the Project Framework Agreement (PFA).
