Solo Oil has announced that it has agreed to acquire a 10%\u00a0interest in Helium One Limited \u00a0for a total consideration of\u00a0\u00a32.55 million \u00a0and has also been granted a 90-day call option to increase its investment in the company by a further 10%,\u00a0for an additional investment of\u00a0\u00a34\u00a0million, which would increase its\u00a0stake to 20%.<\/p>\n
The initial investment by Solo Oil is divided into \u00a31.2 million\u00a0(gross) raised by means of a Company arranged subscription with institutional and private investors and\u00a0\u00a31.35 million\u00a0through issuing new Ordinary Shares.<\/p>\n
The call option to increase interest in Helium One to 20% by a further investment of\u00a0\u00a34 million\u00a0by way of\u00a0\u00a32 million\u00a0in cash and\u00a0\u00a32 million\u00a0through issuing new Ordinary Shares.<\/p>\n
The Helium One’s Rukwa Project in Tanzania has independently estimated by Netherland, Sewell \u00a0and Associates Inc. (NSAI) to contain unrisked most likely prospective recoverable helium volumes close to 100 billion cubic feet.<\/p>\n
The investment comes as the global helium market is anticipated to see a sharp drop in supply in the next five years as the US Strategic Reserve ceases sales, and with helium’s increasing use in modern life, such as MRI scanners, to lifting and electronic applications.<\/p>\n

Global demand for helium is growing at a rate that is outstripping supply, which presents a significant pricing opportunity for future producers.<\/p>\n
Helium supply is concentrated in only a few markets globally, mainly Algeria, Australia, Russia, Qatar and the USA. \u00a0Tanzania has been identified as a key country for helium exploration based on the evidence of surface gas seeps in the geological rift valleys adjacent to the Tanzanian Craton, as well as its strategic location for global exports through its deep-water port at Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n
