Women in Energy and Extractives Africa (WEX)\u00a0are hosting the 2nd instalment of the\u00a0Pink Petro x WEX HerWorld Energy Forum\u00a0– a global think tank that\u00a0will address the energy transition, digital technology, workforce needs and opportunities, and the gender gap.<\/p>\n

HERWorld brings together\u00a0energy professionals who care about the future of our industry and are open to new perspectives.<\/p>\n

The Forum is an innovative and inclusive learning event that addresses new frontiers in the energy industry where business, workforce, innovation and geo-policy intersect. It features a wide range of speakers from the classroom to the C-Suite and is inclusive of external industry perspectives.<\/p>\n

#HW2017\u2019s main stage will be in\u00a0Houston, Texas\u00a0on the campus of Rice University at the Jones Graduate School of Business in the Shell Auditorium with live broadcasting in between the\u00a015 different cities\u00a0participating this year: Denver, Dallas, Baton Rouge, Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York, Anchorage, London, Florence, Aberdeen, The Hague, Dubai and\u00a0Nairobi, Kenya\u00a0which is serving as the hub for Africa.<\/p>\n

Leveraging technology to connect audiences across the world, HERWorld events in 2016\u00a0broadcasted to over 5,000\u00a0with remote locations around the world and hopes to reach and surpass 5x times that number in 2017.<\/p>\n

The significance of this event ties in with the day to celebrate women which is\u00a0International Women\u2019s Day\u00a0(March 8th).\u00a0The theme for International Women\u2019s Day 2017, focuses on\u00a0\u201cWomen in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50:50 by 2030\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

HERWorld is a unique learning experience which uses HD streaming technology to connect the main stage to classrooms, conference rooms, control rooms and board rooms across the world. \u00a0In 2016, HERWorld Energy Forum and HERWorld Connect broadcast to over\u00a05,000\u00a0energy professionals, students, and media and took on topics including the supply chain, the internet of things (IoT), the Fourth Industrial Revolution, supplier diversity, the rise of petropreneurship, climate and geo-policy, parity and the gender gap.<\/em><\/p>\n
