{"id":4750,"date":"2016-06-14T08:37:10","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T08:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=4750"},"modified":"2017-01-25T07:44:18","modified_gmt":"2017-01-25T07:44:18","slug":"amec-foster-wheeler-wins-field-development-project-contract-in-mozambique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/amec-foster-wheeler-wins-field-development-project-contract-in-mozambique\/","title":{"rendered":"Amec Foster Wheeler wins Field Development Project contract in Mozambique"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amec Foster Wheeler has announced the award of a detailed design and engineering contract by Sasol Petroleum Mozambique Limitada for Phase 1 Tranche 1 of the PSA development for surface facilities, located at Temane, 600km north of Maputo in Mozambique.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of work and contract is for a new integrated oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and gas project, including flowlines for the fields, located adjacent to Sasol\u2019s and its partners\u2019 existing Temane Central Processing Facility.<\/p>\n<p>Amec Foster Wheeler had previously completed the early engineering works for the project including the development of a Local Content Plan which produced a comprehensive plan to maximise the use of local Mozambican suppliers, contractors and labour during execution of the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis award reinforces Amec Foster Wheeler\u2019s position as a leading Oil &amp; Gas service provider in Mozambique. We have delivered many projects for Sasol and its partners\u2019 in-country, including building the original Temane facility. For this project, we will deploy our extensive expertise to this development which will see further hydrocarbon resources produced to support Southern African growth,\u201d says Roberto Penno, Amec Foster Wheeler Group President for Asia, Middle East, Africa &amp; Southern Europe<\/p>\n<p>This project marks the first phase of the PSA development which covers a contract area of some 1,790 square kilometres and is central to Sasol\u2019s development plans to drive its growth in Southern Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Amec Foster Wheeler has worked continuously with Sasol on projects since 1995 and has played a key role in developing the Mozambican upstream industry. Amec Foster Wheeler was the FEED and EPCm contractors on the original Temane and Pande Projects which created the upstream industry in Mozambique.
