{"id":4496,"date":"2016-03-15T17:41:10","date_gmt":"2016-03-15T17:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=4496"},"modified":"2017-01-25T11:07:00","modified_gmt":"2017-01-25T11:07:00","slug":"commissioning-of-tanzanias-songo-songo-island-gas-set-for-april-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/commissioning-of-tanzanias-songo-songo-island-gas-set-for-april-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Commissioning of Tanzania\u2019s Songo Songo Island gas plant Set for April 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) has provided a revised work schedule in the \u00a0Kiliwani North license and informed the operator Aminex that the commissioning of the Songo Songo Island gas plant is expected to commence in early April.<\/p>\n<p>Aminex which concluded the final well integrity testing of the Kiliwani North-1 well (KN-1) \u00a0says the well recorded a high tubing pressure reading relative to the other producing wells on Songo Songo Island.<\/p>\n<p>Following the results a wellhead control panel has been installed and all work required by the Company prior to gas production will shortly be complete.<\/p>\n<p>TPDC adds that during the commissioning programme, the initial production rates will be managed to allow for testing of the new gas processing facility and related pipelines.<\/p>\n<p>All KN-1 gas will be sold to the TPDC at wellhead for an agreed price of $3.00 mmBTU (approximately US$3.07 per mscf), payable in US dollars, and will ultimately be transported by pipeline to Dar es Salaam, where it will be sold into the local Tanzanian market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe successful conclusion of the well integrity tests and installation of the wellhead control panel finalises the Company\u2019s preparations prior to the commissioning of the new Songo Songo Island processing facilities.
