The Forum comes to London to\u00a0capitalise on the investment potential of the United Kingdom and promote the strong trade\u00a0relationship between the UK and Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The Africa Energy Forum is the global investment meeting for Africa\u2019s power, energy,\u00a0infrastructure &amp; industrial sectors, expected to welcome 1,000 investors, 500 public sector\u00a0stakeholders, 300 technology providers, 270 developers and 70 countries in June later this\u00a0year.<\/p>\n<p>Shiddika Mohamed, Programme Director, commented, \u201cThe theme of the 2016 Forum this\u00a0year is \u2018Mergers and Acquisitions\u2019, \u00a0so hosting the Forum in the world\u2019s M&amp;A capital will\u00a0enable Africa\u2019s growing number of small and mid-cap power developers to present their\u00a0business to decision makers from across the investment spectrum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the Forum include the EnergyNet Student Engagement Initiative, which will\u00a0bring 50 African students to the Forum from relevant disciplines to build relationships with\u00a0industry leaders in the power sector.<\/p>\n<p>Organisers EnergyNet will extend a warm welcome to London for their international partners\u00a0and colleagues by hosting an opening pub quiz on the evening of 21st June, featuring topical\u00a0games, prizes and traditional British fare.<\/p>\n<p>The Growing Economies Energy Forum (GEEF) will launch this year at AEF, running\u00a0alongside the main Forum. GEEF will host open discussions between the governments and\u00a0private sector from new energy markets such as Iran, Pakistan, Myanmar and Cuba, as\u00a0these growing economies open up for international investment following political and\u00a0economic developments.<\/p>\n<p>The conference and exhibition will see the return of a mobile networking app to assist\u00a0delegates with networking. 70% of attendees used the app in June 2015, with 1,900\u00a0messages exchanged and nearly 200 meetings arranged.<\/p>\n<p>The Africa Energy Forum is open to c-suite investors and developers with a vested interest\u00a0in Africa\u2019s energy and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 18th annual\u00a0Africa Energy Forum (AEF)\u00a0will be held on 21-24 June in London at the new\u00a0London Intercontinental O2 overlooking the River Thames.
