Lamu Oil and Gas a joint venture by Edgo Energy and QFB has agreed a 2D seismic program with Kenya\u2019s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum in in the Lamu basin Block L14.<\/p>\n

The infill 1000 km 2D seismic program planned to start in the third quarter of 2016 is designed to image the high graded eastern sub-basin to define prospects and select a drill target.<\/p>\n

This 2D seismic program is a shift from the previously agreed 3D seismic commitment of the Production Sharing Agreement and follows interpretation of 734 km 2D reconnaissance seismic acquired<\/a> during the initial exploration period across the block.<\/p>\n

During the last update in December 2014 drill preparatory works will commence after ultimate seismic interpretation of the infill seismic and a suitable drillable target has been defined and de-risked.<\/p>\n

Lamu Oil and Gas has already submitted its work program and budget for 2016 to the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and discussions of work schedules with the National Fossil Fuel Advisory Committee are planned January 2016<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Lamu Oil and Gas has said it has also completed its community work for contract year 2015 in the Tana River district and has in consultation with the local communities and authorities funded the construction by local contractors of sanitation facilities and distributed hundreds of school desks to local primary schools.<\/p>\n

Last year Lamu Oil and Gas improved access for local communities to nearby schools and hospitals during the rainy season with the building of a bridge over the Kokane river.<\/p>\n

Lamu Oil and Gas Limited signed a Production Sharing Contract for onshore block L14 in July 2012 in Kenya\u2019s Lamu basin and is currently on the first additional<\/a> period. Block L14 is located within 75 km of the developed coastal area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
