Block 2A operator Simba Energy has told investors that it plans to start its seismic program in\u00a0 Kenya in early 2016 and is currently coordinating with its new partner Essel Group since the August farm-out<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 2D seismic data is expected to help identify locations to drill initial exploration wells at Block 2A, Kenya in 2016.<\/p>\n

Already the JV partner Essel has agreed to a minimum exploration program for Block 2A comprising additional 2D seismic, possible 3D seismic, and drilling on at least two prospects over the next 12 to 18 months, with a minimum estimated cost of $60 million USD.<\/p>\n

The seismic will involve the acquiring and interpreting of up to 500 line kms of 2D seismic data which will also confirm depths and support the volume estimates necessary for a revised resource estimate and risk category for the concession\u2019s prospects and other secondary targeted structures.<\/p>\n

In August Simba Energy had hoped to commence seismic acquisition in Block 2A by the last quarter of 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect to finalize arrangements to commence additional seismic work on Block 2A in the next 30 to 60 days,\u201d said remarked Robert Dinning, Simba Energy President and CEO.<\/p>\n
