The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has said it will be holding promotional Events for Uganda\u2019s First Licensing Round for Petroleum Exploration, 2015.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/a>Potential investors will receive presentations and an exhibition on the licensing round for petroleum exploration at the following International events;<\/p>\n

1.The 12th\u00a0\u00a0Africa Independents Forum 2015; 26th\u00a0to 27th\u00a0May, 2015;\u00a0Adelphi Suites, The Waldorf Hilton, London United Kingdom<\/p>\n

2.American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Annual Convention and Exhibition, 2015; 31st\u00a0May to 3rd\u00a0June, 2015, International Convention Center, Denver, Colorado, USA.<\/p>\n

3.Global Petroleum Show 2015; 9th\u00a0to 11th\u00a0June, 2015;\u00a0Stampede Park – Big 4 Building;\u00a0Calgary, Alberta, Canada<\/p>\n

Uganda\u2019s first open competitive licensing round for petroleum exploration will cover six blocks in the Albertine Graben which is a proven prospective sedimentary basin including: Ngassa (410 Km2) in Hoima District, Taitai & Karuka (565 Km2) in Buliisa District, Ngaji (895 Km2), Rukungiri & Kanungu Districts, Mvule (344 Km2) in Moyo and Yumbe Districts together with Turaco (425 Km2)\u00a0 and Kanywantaba (344 Km2) in Ntoroko District.<\/p>\n

\"Uganda<\/a><\/p>\n

These blocks have both seismic and well data which were acquired by oil companies previously licensed in these areas. Stratigraphic Licensing will be applicable to some of these blocks.<\/p>\n

Uganda has already undertaken resource and risk assessment of the areas proposed for licensing, developed a data room and is now making available data packages to prospective investors in preparation for this licensing round.<\/p>\n

Uganda\u2019s first licensing round is guided by the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda (2008) and the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013.\u00a0 The announcement follows approval of Cabinet and submission of a report on the Licensing round to Parliament.<\/p>\n

The Ministry invites all interested firms to visit its exhibition booth during these events to get more information on Uganda\u2019s First Licensing Round for Petroleum Exploration and other investment opportunities in Uganda\u2019s emerging oil and\u00a0gas sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
