{"id":2864,"date":"2015-04-28T17:15:45","date_gmt":"2015-04-28T17:15:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=2864"},"modified":"2015-05-18T17:13:11","modified_gmt":"2015-05-18T17:13:11","slug":"environment-infrastructure-local-content-take-center-stage-4th-oil-gas-conference-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/environment-infrastructure-local-content-take-center-stage-4th-oil-gas-conference-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"Environment, Infrastructure, Local content take center stage at 4th Oil and Gas Conference tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whereas the 4<sup>th<\/sup> Oil and Gas Conference and\u00a0Exhibition has continuously missed the presence of exploration companies, government officials and policymakers in the past two days discussions tomorrow will see various stakeholders meet the sector industry issues.<\/p>\n<p>Today discussions mainly surrounded other sources of energy including Wind, Geothermal and Nuclear.<\/p>\n<p>Among speakers set to grace the conference tomorrow include the Commissioner for petroleum Ministry for Energy &amp; Petroleum Martin Heya as well as Cabinet secretary in the Ministry of Environment &amp; Natural Resources Prof. Judi Wakhungu.<\/p>\n<p>Heya will give a general overview of the Oil and Gas Sector in Kenya while the cabinet secretary will discuss sustainable ways of exploiting natural resources for economic development.<\/p>\n<p>Other experts expected to make presentations include Mary Mukindia Kimotho an Oil and Gas Consultant, former National Oil managing director Mwendia Nyaga, as well as Dr. Pam Namai CEO Africa Energy Association.<\/p>\n<p>Mukindia will focus her discussions on Kenya as an emerging market for investment in oil and gas infrastructure Development, while Nyaga will discuss issues of Local Content in oil and gas industry in Eastern Africa.
