{"id":2117,"date":"2014-12-05T09:09:42","date_gmt":"2014-12-05T08:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oilnewskenya.com\/?p=2117"},"modified":"2015-09-07T11:33:56","modified_gmt":"2015-09-07T11:33:56","slug":"simba-energy-to-acquire-2d-seismic-in-kenyas-block-2a-in-h1-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/simba-energy-to-acquire-2d-seismic-in-kenyas-block-2a-in-h1-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Simba Energy to acquire 2D seismic in Kenya\u2019s Block 2A in H1 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Simba Energy expects to acquire 300 to 400 kilometers of 2D seismic in the Mandera and Anza basin in the next six months targeting two of the five prospects identified by the high resolution Gravity Gradiometry completed in August.<\/p>\n<p>Through 2D seismic survey the company hopes it will be able to further delineate drilling locations as well as confirm the depth and volume of estimates for the identified primary as well as secondary targets.<\/p>\n<p>In the Anza basin the five targets identified as A1 (primary), A2\/A3 and A4\/A5 displayed varying results with A1 with an area extent of 44 square kilometers showing a similar fault zone to that in Ngamia (in the Lokichar basin) with the estimates expected to be at shallow depth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/oilnewskenya.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/block-2a-a1-a2.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2118\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/oilnewskenya.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/block-2a-a1-a2.png?resize=545%2C400\" alt=\"Block 2A A1, A2\" width=\"545\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/block-2a-a1-a2.png?w=629&amp;ssl=1 629w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/block-2a-a1-a2.png?resize=300%2C220&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 545px) 100vw, 545px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the other targets details on the depth and depth are yet to be determined although in A4\/A5 similar fault zone to that in Ngamia has also been identified.
