Murphy Oil Corporation\u00a0has announced results from the Civette exploration well in Block CI-502 offshore C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. The Civette-1X well reached a total depth of 13,950 feet (4,252 meters) and encountered non-commercial hydrocarbons across multiple intervals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA key outcome at Civette according to Murphy is that we confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons in this frontier play \u2013 a meaningful success in early-stage exploration. While Civette did not meet commercial thresholds, the well provided insights that strengthen our subsurface understanding for the potential of the basin and inform the remaining prospectivity on the CI-502 Block,\u201d said\u00a0Eric Hambly, President and Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Murphy, together with its partner Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nationale d\u2019Op\u00e9rations P\u00e9troli\u00e8res de la C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (PETROCI) say they will continue its exploration program in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire with the Caracal and Bubale prospects, both targeting independent plays with significant resource potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Murphy holds a 90 percent working interest in Block CI-502 and serves as operator. PETROCI holds the remaining 10 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
