The drilling of the exploration well “East Crystal-1” in the Gulf of Suez, operated by the Emirati Dragon Oil Company, through the joint operations company Jabco, have been successful according to he Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary testing results for the 16-foot Howara layer showed a daily production of more than 2,000 barrels of crude oil, and the honey base layer, which is more than 100 feet thick, has not yet been tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jabco will complete detection development by drilling two additional wells, adding more than 5,000 barrels of crude oil per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This discovery comes within the framework of the implementation of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Property strategy, which aims to increase local oil and gas production, as one of the key pillars of contributing to reducing the import bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the drilling works of new wells located in the Imtiaz area integrated in the Gulf of Suez, the expected stock before the drilling of about 8 million barrels has been confirmed, with expectations of exceeding this amount. This well “East Crystal-1” is the second successful exploration well to be drilled using the latest seismic scanning techniques, the ObN, following the success of well “S. El-Wasl-1”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The importance of this discovery which represents a positive indicator of the possibility of recovery of production from the forthcoming fields, especially in the Gulf of Suez and the achievement of new discoveries in it through the application of modern technologies after experiencing a natural decline in production over the years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
