{"id":14115,"date":"2023-12-19T08:02:47","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T08:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=14115"},"modified":"2023-12-27T08:16:30","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T08:16:30","slug":"rwanda-scatec-sells-stake-in-asyv-solar-power-plant-for-1-38m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/rwanda-scatec-sells-stake-in-asyv-solar-power-plant-for-1-38m\/","title":{"rendered":"RWANDA: Scatec Sells Stake in ASYV Solar Power Plant\u00a0for $1.38M"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scatec ASA has signed an agreement with Fortis Green Fund I Rwanda Holdings Ltd and Axian Energy Green Ltd to sell its 54% equity share in the 8.5 MW solar power plant in Rwanda for USD 1.38 million (NOK 14.2 million), in line with the company\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis transaction is aligned with our strategy to consolidate our operating portfolio through divestments of assets in non-prioritised markets,\u201d says Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ASYV power plant in Rwanda commenced operations in 2014. The power was sold under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the state-owned utility EWSA, guaranteed by the Government of Rwanda. The transaction is subject to the customary regulatory consents and is expected to close in 2024.
