Tlou Energy\u00a0has announced that\u00a0work has begun on the next phase of drilling\u00a0at the Company’s\u00a0Lesedi Gas-to-Power project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\u00a0Lesedi 6 gas production pod\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>spudded on\u00a010 April\u00a02023 and\u00a0is at\u00a0a\u00a0depth of\u00a0approx.\u00a059m.\u00a0The pod will comprise one vertical\u00a0production well intersected by two lateral\u00a0wells drilled horizontally through the target\u00a0reservoir section for several\u00a0hundred\u00a0metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The objective of the pod is to increase the volume of gas available to the Company for power generation. Lesedi 6 is located to the southwest and parallel to the existing Lesedi 4 gas production pod which has been producing gas for some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once Lesedi 6 is drilled and completed, dewatering will commence and thereafter the well will start to establish an indicative gas flow rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lesedi 6 is the first well of a proposed drilling program to expand gas production at the Lesedi project. Gas flows from Lesedi 6 are planned to be converted to electricity for the existing 10MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) once the transmission line, substations and associated electrical infrastructure are in place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
