{"id":13192,"date":"2023-01-18T09:14:55","date_gmt":"2023-01-18T09:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=13192"},"modified":"2023-01-24T09:18:44","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T09:18:44","slug":"eacop-institution-of-surveyors-of-uganda-sign-mou-to-enhance-competencies-provide-training-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/eacop-institution-of-surveyors-of-uganda-sign-mou-to-enhance-competencies-provide-training-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"EACOP, Institution of Surveyors of Uganda Sign MOU to Enhance Competencies &#038; Provide Training Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The East African Crude Oil pipeline Company (EACOP) Ltd \u00a0and the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda (ISU)\u00a0signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance competencies through training of EACOP staff and offering internship programs for university students from universities of Makerere, Ndejje and Kyambogo.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative will provide a three-months training and internship placement for selected participating university students twice a year during the breaks between semesters.<\/p>\n<p>The Institution of surveyors of Uganda (ISU) has over 2200 members that brings together land surveying, quantity, surveying, valuation surveying, mining, and hydrological surveying professionals whose mandate is to promote professional surveying practices that can enhance the quality of services under the various surveying disciplines in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the MOU signing ceremony held in Kampala today, EACOP Managing Director Martin TIFFEN said: \u201cThis MoU is just one illustration of our national content strategy in practice, that is aimed at optimising the use of Ugandan expertise, goods, and services and building capacities. This initiative will enhance the skills and knowledge of both our staff and young talented Ugandans interested in participating in the oil and gas sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nathan KIBWAMI, President Institute of Surveyors echoed the significance of commitment of EACOP to the partnership with the Institute of Surveyors of Uganda to facilitate the delivery of quality training to future surveyors that will work on this incredible project.
