{"id":12991,"date":"2022-12-15T10:33:19","date_gmt":"2022-12-15T10:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=12991"},"modified":"2022-12-15T12:20:41","modified_gmt":"2022-12-15T12:20:41","slug":"botswana-tlou-energy-raises-1-695-placement-be-used-for-drilling-of-gas-production-wells","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/botswana-tlou-energy-raises-1-695-placement-be-used-for-drilling-of-gas-production-wells\/","title":{"rendered":"BOTSWANA: Tlou Energy Raises \u00a31.7M Placement be Used for Drilling of Gas Production Wells"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"eo\"><span class=\"ef\">Tlou Energy Limited has announced that it has received firm commitments to raise A$3,072,864.71 (~\u00a31.695 million, ~BWP 26.485 million) before expenses pursuant to a placing of 87,796,135 new ordinary shares of no par value at an issue price of A$0.035 per share.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"eo\"><span class=\"ef\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ef\">The funds are proposed to be used for drilling of gas production wells and associated costs in relation to development of\u00a0Tlou&#8217;s Lesedi Power Project\u00a0in\u00a0Botswana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"eo\"><span class=\"ef\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ef\">The issue of the New Shares is subject to shareholder approval, to be sought at a general meeting to be held in January 2023. If approved, the placement of the New Shares will result in IC Australia (No2) Pty Ltd representing 25.79% of the Company.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"eo\"><span class=\"ef\">Anthony Gilby, Chief Executive Officer of Tlou, commented:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"eo\"><em><span class=\"ef\">&#8220;This additional investment is an endorsement of the progress being made and will assist the Company to meet our objectives. These new funds are planned to go towards drilling a new gas production pod in 1H23.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tlou is developing energy solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa through gas-fired power and planned ancillary projects.
