{"id":12810,"date":"2022-11-14T05:09:32","date_gmt":"2022-11-14T05:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=12810"},"modified":"2022-11-14T05:09:32","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T05:09:32","slug":"botswana-tlou-energy-raises-1-7-million-towards-the-lesedi-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/botswana-tlou-energy-raises-1-7-million-towards-the-lesedi-project\/","title":{"rendered":"BOTSWANA: Tlou Energy Raises \u00a31.7 million towards the Lesedi Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">Tlou Energy Limited is pleased to announce that it has raised A$3 million (~\u00a31.7 million, ~BWP 25 million) pursuant to a placing of 85,714,286 new ordinary shares of no par value at an issue price of A$0.035 (~\u00a30.02, ~BWP0.30) per share<\/span><span class=\"ch\">. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">The funds have again been raised via an entity controlled by Dr\u00a0Ian Campbell, a high net worth investor based in\u00a0Sydney, who invested\u00a0A$2 million\u00a0as announced by the Company on\u00a04 November 2022.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"cd\">The funds are proposed to be used for development of\u00a0Tlou&#8217;s Lesedi Power Project\u00a0in\u00a0Botswana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ch\">The placement of the New Shares will result in\u00a0Dr Campbell&#8217;s\u00a0entity holding 19.23% of the Company. Accordingly and as announced on\u00a04 November 2022,\u00a0Dr Campbell\u00a0has the right to nominate one director to the board of the Company subject to any regulatory requirements. To date no such nomination has been made.<\/span><span class=\"ch\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">Dr Campbell\u00a0has indicated to the Company that he intends to remain a long term strategic investor and has expressed a willingness to potentially provide further financial support to the Company over and above his recent contributions.<\/span><span class=\"ch\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">Further funding could fast track project development including the anticipated high impact drilling campaign scheduled for 2023. The drilling campaign aims to produce further gas for electricity generation under the Power Purchase Agreement with Botswana Power Corporation.<\/span><span class=\"ch\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">Anthony Gilby, Chief Executive Officer of Tlou, commented:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cq\"><span class=\"ch\">&#8220;We welcome\u00a0Dr Campbell&#8217;s\u00a0additional capital that will further assist the Company to meet our objectives.
