{"id":12785,"date":"2022-11-04T09:13:40","date_gmt":"2022-11-04T09:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=12785"},"modified":"2022-11-04T09:13:40","modified_gmt":"2022-11-04T09:13:40","slug":"botswana-tlou-energy-raises-1-1-million-towards-lesedi-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/botswana-tlou-energy-raises-1-1-million-towards-lesedi-project\/","title":{"rendered":"BOTSWANA: Tlou Energy Raises \u00a31.1 million Towards Lesedi Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">Tlou Energy Limited has announced that it has raised A$2 million (~\u00a31.1 million, ~BWP 16.9 million) pursuant to a placing of 57,142,857 new ordinary shares of no par value<\/span><span class=\"ck\">.<\/span><span class=\"ck\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">The funds have been raised from a new strategic investor, via an entity controlled by Dr\u00a0Ian Campbell, a high net worth investor based in\u00a0Sydney, Australia.<\/span><span class=\"ck\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">Funds are proposed to be used for development of\u00a0Tlou&#8217;s Lesedi Power Project\u00a0including construction of substations to connect to the existing electricity grid in\u00a0Botswana.<\/span><span class=\"ck\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">Tlou is in the process of negotiating with Dr Campbell for an additional tranche of development capital in order to fast-track the Company&#8217;s initial target of 10MW of power generation.<\/span><span class=\"ck\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">Anthony Gilby, Chief Executive Officer of Tlou, commented:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">&#8220;We have been working to secure the next series of funding partners for the Company for some time and we are delighted to have reached agreement with the first of these being Dr\u00a0Ian Campbell\u00a0who has invested at a premium to the prevailing share price. This is a significant endorsement of\u00a0Tlou&#8217;s Lesedi Power Project\u00a0in\u00a0Botswana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ct\"><span class=\"ck\">Dr Campbell\u00a0has indicated to the Company that he will work with us to secure an additional funding package that is designed to fast-track the goal of achieving 10MW of power
