Geoex MCG<\/em>\u00a0has agreed with theInstituto Nacional de Petr\u00f3leo\u00a0<\/em><\/span>(INP)<\/em>to shoot a modern high-resolution 3D dataset on the\u00a0<\/span>A6-B block offshore Mozambique<\/em>\u00a0which will cover an area up\u00a0<\/span>to 8,500 sq km,\u00a0<\/span>currently available in the ongoing\u00a06th Licensing Round<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This 3D survey will further elucidate the potential prospectivity\u00a0<\/span>of the very<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>underexplored Angoche margin<\/span>. The offshore\u00a0<\/span>Angoche area contains sediment deposited in a rift, rift-sag,\u00a0<\/span>drift, and passive margin environment. Prospectivity of the\u00a0<\/span>Angoche margin is supported by discoveries in the Rovuma\u00a0<\/span>basin to the north and the onshore Pande and Temane fields\u00a0<\/span>in the south. These<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>discoveries indicate a working petroleum\u00a0<\/span>system that may extend to the Angoche margin<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
