{"id":12552,"date":"2022-08-10T15:02:04","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T15:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=12552"},"modified":"2022-08-10T15:02:04","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T15:02:04","slug":"tanzania-african-geophysical-services-awarded-3d-seismic-acquisition-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/tanzania-african-geophysical-services-awarded-3d-seismic-acquisition-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"TANZANIA: African Geophysical Services Awarded 3D Seismic Acquisition Contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aminex has announced that Orca Energy\u00a0 has recently announced that the 3D<br \/>\nseismic acquisition programme, covering a total area of 200 km2 to include the adjacent Songo Songo Licence with a ca. 12.5 km2 incursion into the Kiliwani North Development Licence (KNDL), has been awarded to African Geophysical Services LLP (AGS).<\/p>\n<p>Having now received all environmental approvals, Orca is targeting completion of the acquisition programme before year end to align with the optimum weather window and assure highest quality data acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>Whist the survey has been designed to better image the structural complexities of Orca\u2019s Songo Songo gas-field, the data to be acquired over KNDL, at zero cost to the KNDL partners, will be valuable in identifying fault trends, improving reservoir definition and improving our understanding of the Kiliwani North and South structures.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Santos, Executive Chairman of Aminex commented:<br \/>\n<em>\u201cWe are pleased with Orca\u2019s announcement of their seismic contract award and timeframe for the acquisition of their 3D survey.
