{"id":12385,"date":"2022-06-29T08:06:20","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T08:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/?p=12385"},"modified":"2022-06-29T08:15:16","modified_gmt":"2022-06-29T08:15:16","slug":"namibia-reconafrica-spuds-first-well-in-the-kavango-basin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oilnewskenya.com\/index.php\/namibia-reconafrica-spuds-first-well-in-the-kavango-basin\/","title":{"rendered":"NAMIBIA: ReconAfrica Spuds First Seismically Identified Target in the Kavango Basin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reconnaissance Energy Africa and its joint venture partner NAMCOR\u00a0 have announced<br \/>\nspudding of the 1819\/8-2 (8-2) well on June 25, 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drilling Operations<\/strong><br \/>\nThis initial four well program will be executed continuously and will target seismically<br \/>\ndefined structures with the objective of testing two of the three play types; oil prone<br \/>\nKaroo Rift Fill and Intra Rift Fault Block plays.<\/p>\n<p>The 8-2 well will be drilled to a planned depth of approximately 2,800 meters (9,184<br \/>\nfeet) and is designed to test potential conventional oil and associated natural gas<br \/>\nreservoirs in clastic rocks (sandstones) in the Karoo Rift Fill, the Company\u2019s primary<br \/>\nplay.<\/p>\n<p>The well will also be drilled deeper into the Pre-Karoo Mulden and Otavi<br \/>\nformations.
