2D seismic acquisition for 500 kilometers in Block 11B is expected to start soon with the tendering process at an advanced stage according to a presentation made Bowleven CEO Kevin Hart at the 11th Africa Independents Forum.<\/p>\n
Block 11B which is held by Bowleven and Adamantine Energy is 14,200km2 in highly prospective East African Rift system with existing data suggests basins similar form to Lokichar Basin.<\/p>\n
Already a block-wide high density airborne gravity gradient survey (FTG) is now complete identifying five basins including the Loeli, Lotikipi, Gatome and South Gatome basins.<\/p>\n
During the satellite work by the operator Adamantine energy in April 2013 the satellite imagery shows indications of seepage on the flanks of the Gatome and other basins within Block 11b.<\/p>\n
The seepage as well as gravity and available seismic data suggest possible basin asymmetry is seen to the south in the Lokichar basin held by Tullow Oil and Africa oil and which has seen a series of successes with the operators in the block saying that the Gatome basin will considerably lengthen the \u201cstring of pearls.\u201d<\/p>\n
The block is also on trend with oil production to the north-west in Sudan in the Melut and Muglad basins and is north of recent oil discoveries in Kenya.<\/p>\n
Bowleven (Kenya) Limited and Adamantine Energy share a 50 percent equity in Block 11B with Adamantine being the operator and Bowleven providing technical and other services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
