Valaris Limited has announced that it has been awarded a four-well contract with BP offshore Mauritania and Senegal for drillship, VALARIS DS-12. The contract is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022 with an estimated duration of 285 days.<\/p>\n

In Mauritania, bp has a 62% working interest, including operatorship, of offshore Blocks C-6, C-8, C-12 and C-13 \u2013 alongside partners Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Mauritanienne Des Hydrocarbures et de Patrimoine Minier (10%) and Kosmos (28%).<\/p>\n

The approximately 33,000 square kilometres of acreage covered by the wider bp and Kosmos partnership, is thought to contain between 50-100 tcf of gas resource potential, and includes the Greater Tortue\/ Ahmeyim field<\/a>, estimated to contain more than 15 tcf of discovered gas resources.<\/p>\n

In December 2018, bp announced the Final Investment Decision (FID) for Phase 1 of the innovative cross-border Greater Tortue Ahmeyim development. The decision was made following agreement between the Mauritanian and Senegalese governments and partners bp, Kosmos Energy and National Oil Companies Petrosen and SMHPM. This marks the beginning of a multi-phase project that is expected to have lasting and positive impact for generations to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
