A total of 14 wells exist on AGC Shallow, of which only one was drilled after the acquisition of 3D seismic data. The first 3D data was acquired in 1982 and re-shot in 2003. The most recent acquisition of 3D was in 2012.

Significant volumes of oil have been found in the early wells in shallow reservoirs overlying the salt induced ‘Domes’ at Flore and Gea. The AGC Authority is keen to see initiatives to commercialise this oil, some of which has flowed upon test, and seeks offers of a future work program from interested parties – who have studied all previous data and can demonstrate competence to operate offshore. The AGC Authority will forward further information to interested parties outlining the block and its potential with details on the application process to award the block.

MGGS has been mandated to manage and license the database, which includes both legacy data from previous operators and more recent work conducted on the shallow oil and reservoirs. The new information has been utilised in a review of the existing wells and various reprocessed seismic packages, then linked into possible commercial development concepts.

AGC Shallow Block offshore Guinea Bissau – with location of Dome Gea, Dome Flore and Dome Iris

The data will be available by mid April and a database information circular will be published shortly – contact MGGS to be included on the mailing list.

For further information or to register your interest please contact either:

Papa Boucar Faye on boucar.faye@agc-sngb.org
Marc Guillon on marc.guillon@mggs.eu
Elwyn Jones on elwyn.jones@geopartnersltd.com

Source: AGC Authority / MGGS / GeoPartners

The AGC Authority (Agence de Gestion et de Cooperation entre Le Senegal at La Guinee Bissau) with the support of MGGS and GeoPartners, has announced the start of the promotion of the block containing the … Read More

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[7442,11,7444
9212,9214,9213,9215,637,1054,2272
post-10176","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-countries","category-top-news","category-west-africa","tag-agc-shallow-block","tag-dome-flore","tag-dome-gea","tag-dome-iris","tag-drilling","tag-guinea-bissau","tag-seismic","entry

https://i0.wp.com/www.oilnewskenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/AGC-Shallow-block.png?fit=720%2C356&ssl=1
https://www.oilnewskenya.com/index.php/guinea-bissau-independent-ep-companies-iocs-unlock-prospective-offshore-msgbc-acreage/
By Miguel Artacho, Field Editor Oil and gas investors with an interest in Africa have made significant investments in some of the countries of the MSGBC Basin – which comprise Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea-Conakry – such as Senegal and Mauritania, where the world-class Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas project currently underway…
https://i0.wp.com/www.oilnewskenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Equitorial-Guinea-Oil.jpg?fit=512%2C335&ssl=1&resize=350%2C200
Rhino Resources has announced it has expanded its African footprint with the recent acquisition of two offshore blocks in East Africa in the Comoros territorial waters.
